What We Do

Making a difference around County Durham & Sunderland

Food in a crisis

We all need food. Sadly for too many people a financial crisis makes even obtaining food impossible. Our foodbanks provide short term support while the crisis is resolved. Each year we provide enough food to feed over 25,000 for 3 days – around 8.500 of those are children.

Freedom from the burden of debt

Resolving debts improves people’s health, mentally and physically, and can transform lives and family relationships. On average people come to us with £8000 of debt. We can help them to avoid eviction, get the benefits they’re entitled to, and in most cases become debt free.

Energy support in times of crisis

Ensuring people have access to warmth and energy. On average people who turn to us are facing the impossible choice between heating or eating. We help them stay connected to their energy supply, avoid self-disconnection, and keep their homes warm
